Enjoy an experience with a traditional craft during your travels.

Our workshops are popular not only with domestic travelers but travelers from overseas as well.

At the start of each session, the participant chooses the work they wish to create.

  • Washi paper Ikkanbari

    Create an Ikkanbari work with only Washi paper.

  • Bamboo and Washi paper

    Apply Washi paper to a bamboo framework that we prepare for you in advance.

  • Wood and Washi paper

    Apply Washi paper to a wood framework that we prepare for you in advance.

Begin crafting.

Finish session.
The finished work will be sent to your address at a later date once the paste has dried. *We can also ship overseas.

Access

  • [By train/subway]

    Kyoto Station to Kuramaguchi Station (11 minutes by subway) then 15 minute walk.

  • [By taxi]

    You will arrive smoothly if you ask the driver to take you to the intersection of Kuramaguchi Dori and Chiekouin Dori.
    The drive will be about 20 minutes from Kyoto Station.

  • [By bus]

    7 minute walk from the Daitokuji-mae bus stop.

  • [By air]

    Take the train from Kansai International Airport to Kyoto Station, and then take a 20 minute taxi ride as described above.
    Alternatively, take a 1 hour taxi ride from Osaka International Airport.

14th generation craftsman Zuiho Onoe

尾上 瑞宝

Zuiho Onoe began making toys using the Ikkanbari craft from the age of 2. There is no limit to what can be created with Ikkanbari techniques.

She began teaching classes from the age of 50 out of a desire for everyone to be able to experience the fascination and joy of Ikkanbari.
She offers enjoyable classes that include thoughts, wisdom, and tips for living well in addition to the techniques of the craft.
